General Information
The Sheriff and his staff are required to follow strict federal guidelines when performing necessary procedures for fingerprinting. During the application process, you will be asked to schedule an appointment. Please note that you will be asked to pay now to reserve your appointment.
Residents interested in having fingerprints taken (at the request of the potential employer) may bring their own fingerprint card which is provided by the prospective employer. If a potential employer has given you a fingerprint card, or an OAI (Originating Agency Identifier) number, please bring that information so that we can transfer the information to your scanned and printed card. If a potential employer does not provide you with a fingerprint card, the Sheriff's Office will provide you with one.
To ensure the safety of everyone and the efficiency of the Fingerprint services, we ask for compliance on the following:
- We can not print individuals with open wounds on their fingers
- Lotion, or oil based products should not be worn the day of fingerprinting
- All cell phones and non-medical related electronic devices should be turned off prior to entering our facilities.
- Pets and nonessential individuals should not attend an applicant's appointment.
Pricing:
- Fingerprinting costs $10.00
- Appointments for fingerprinting will be processed between 2:00pm-4:00pm on Thursdays.

Fingerprinting Requirements: must meet ALL requirements
If you are obtaining fingerprints for a North Carolina state licensed childcare facility please make sure you receive the Electronic Submission form from the agency requesting that you be fingerprinted. If you do not have these forms we cannot fingerprint you.
The Anson County Sheriff’s Office offers this online service as a convenience to the community. In addition to the fingerprint fee of $10, the system will charge a per transaction fee for the convenience of applying and paying for your fingerprints online. The service fee is not collected by the Sheriff. This fee is paid to the company that provides this order, payment and processing system to the public. You do have the option of applying and paying via cash in person at the Sheriff’s office. By doing so, you will not be charged the service fee.

The cost to get fingerprinted is $10.00 and you can pay that online as part of this process. You will also be able to choose an appointment with the Sheriff's Office for your fingerprinting session.
